What is a reduction print?
A reduction print is a multi-color relief print made by carving and printing a single block in progressive layers, where the printing block is permanently altered and carved away as the work proceeds.

What is a reduction print?
A reduction print is a multi-color relief print made by carving and printing a single block in progressive layers, where the printing block is permanently altered and carved away as the work proceeds.

Each new layer builds on the one before it, slowly creating the final image. Because the block is permanently carved away between every color, once the edition is finished, it can never be printed the same way again.
